Every month we run an intimate mentoring breakfast with an industry leader who has built multi billion dollar businesses and has lived through ‘Berlin Wall” moment which has redefined business as we know it.

Last month it was Greg Dyke. You can learn more about his insights, visit links below:

This month we will meet with Mary Sismey-Durrant and his focus in terms of mentoring will be on these 3 key areas:

1. Operational Excellence: Mark grew his bank from 83M to 1.2 BN within 5 years with just 130 staff. They launched a new product every year - to achieve this growth organically. One of the keys to their effectiveness was operational excellence.

2. Creating an Infectious and Irresistible brand: that magnetises a rampage of new delighted customers. Mark and his team created an online savings product which grew to 4.8 BN in balance-sheet assets within 4 months from their launch and had a team of only 7 full-time staff running it.

3. Leadership in turbulent and uncertain times: Mark was hurled into the eye of the storm following the Lehman Brothers and Icelandic crisis as his 130 year old Scottish bank was partly owned by an Icelandic bank. It was an extraordinary and unusual circumstance which got him to discover and tone leadership muscles he never knew he had. It is a rare opportunity to learn the lessons of being a resilient and inspired leader in uncertain times.

Here are the details for the mentoring breakfast to be held on Monday, 23rd November, 8-10am at Sun Microsystems Ltd. To secure your spot go to:

It would be great if you could join us for this unique event or our next microfinance talk with Dr. Phyllis SantaMaria or come to our Microfinance Training course which are held at Allen and Overy, near Liverpool Street Tube Station. Here is the link for the venue:
