I couldn't agree with you more! Last month this article was posted: 10 Ways Personal Branding Can Save You From Getting Fired and I thought you might find it interesting.

Personal branding would make a great discussion topic too.

Help men create 10/10 relationships with their spouse.
(and create a 10/10 relationship with mine...)

Verbally acknowledge strength, beauty and other positive qualities in others.

Be a present, fun and supportive dad, son, husband, colleague, coach, friend.

Believe in my own goodness, dharma, and abilities.

Trust... and be trustworthy.

Live by the "7 spiritual laws of success."

Seek first to understand.

Share my gifts without reservation.

Thanks for asking!!!

I'm going to become a volunteer EMT with a local search and rescue team, to be of greater service in my community and have a direct impact on people's lives.

That sounds very interesting and challenging (emotionally and physically).

Thanks Keith and thanks for mentioning me.

I can't change the world, but for 2009 I'm going to continue to introduce people to each other who have the power to do it. And when I have them together, I will attempt to help them do it, by asking your question.

Happy Holidays and may we all keep our commitments (especially this one) in 2009.

I am going to sponsor an only child whose family lives in poverty in Vietnam and share a peice of my son and I's life with him through letter-writing. I am also going to leave the office early every other Friday to volunteer. I am going to try loving people more like Jesus' commands, "Love your neighbor as yourself" by trying to focus more on what they need instead of what I need from them. I am terrible at knowing what other people really need because I always try to imagine what I would need if I was in their place which tends to slant what I give more to what I like giving. I decided in 2009 I am going to do more asking the questions, "What do you need?" and "How can I help/serve you?" Many people say nothing because they have trouble putting in words what they need or their situation is so overwhelming they have no idea where to start. So if they don't know or say 'nothing,' then I will ask, "Can I _________?" offering them what I thought I would need in their situation or what I know I can offer, if nothing else to help get them thinking about what they do need.

I've broken the St. Francis prayer down into sections on six different note cards. I will carry each one for two months concentrating on it's message.

Lord, make me a channel of thy peace,
that where there is hatred, I may bring love;
that where there is wrong, I may bring the spirit of forgiveness;
that where there is discord, I may bring harmony;
that where there is error, I may bring truth;
that where there is doubt, I may bring faith;
that where there is despair, I may bring hope;
that where there are shadows, I may bring light;
that where there is sadness, I may bring joy.
Lord, grant that I may seek rather to comfort
than to be comforted;
to understand, than to be understood;
to love, than to be loved.
For it is by self-forgetting that one finds.
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.
It is by dying that one awakens to Eternal Life.

Although I view myself as spiritual and not religious, I believe the keys to a happy life are within this prayer. This prayer conveys a lot of action, and others judge us on our actions, not our intentions.

That is great. A tall order but with God all things are possible. I can see the rippling effects of such mental preparedness and prayer. I was just thinking about something similiar. All that I have is the Lords to be used for others, not myself. I keep thinking on that and then, for example, when I heard someone say they had to transport something (in this case a couch)-- without question I knew why I had been blessed with the truck. "Oh I have the truck to transport it-- when do you want to do it?" The unexpected happened, too, I got my taxes done for free. God is good.

-Find and mentor a group of young women & men who want to start their own businesses and mentor them for 1 year. We have to invest in our young people and teach them that entrepreneurship is the key to freedom.
-Grow my business by 50% by doing more speaking, training and coaching.
-Publish both of my books. I've taught 100s of folks how to publish and market themselves effectively, now it's my turn :)
Thanks for letting us sell Russ.

Wow Tynisha that sounds great. I need a mentor (even though I am not young). How much speaking, training, and coaching do you do now?
